What is Rukh?

Rukh are life force born from the flow. It is the natural energy of the world and it has many different forms. Souls of the dead are in the Rukh and they also exist within natural phenomenon. There is Rukh in fire, and Rukh that cause the waves in the sea. Magicians have divided Rukh into 8 types.

1st type: Rukh that manipulates flames. Magicians who have an affinity to this type are called "Red Magicians".

2nd type: Rukh that manipulates water. Magicians who have an affinity to this type are called "Blue Magicians".

3rd type: Rukh that manipulates light. Magicians who have an affinity to this type are called "Orange Magicians".

4th type: Rukh that manipulates lightning. Magician who have an affinity to this type are called "Yellow Magicians".

5th type: Rukh that manipulates wind. Magicians who have an affinity to this type are called "White Magicians".

6th type: Rukh that manipulates sound. Magicians who have an affinity to this type are called "Green Magicians".

7th type: Rukh that manipulates power. Magicians who have an affinity to this type are called "Black Magicians".

8th type: Rukh that manipulates life. Magicians who have an affinity to this type are called "Purple Magicians".

When the Rukh for a type are used they shine their respective colors. For example, the Rukh of the first type shine with a red color for humans eyes when they cause a natural phenomenon. For that reason, the first type magician is called “red magician” as well.

Alignment
While wind and strength magic are called "White" and "Black" respectitivly, if one is talking about "White" or "Black" Rukh, then they are talking about another matter entirely. The White rukh is all the natural rukh generated by people whom are embracing their destiny. Positive feelings make the white rukh flourish and large concentrations of it tend to mean happier people. Conversely, Black rukh is manifested when one curses their own fate. Whenever someone is overwhelmed with negative feelings or emotions black rukh rises. Large concentrations of this rukh make people feel uneasy and on edge.

What is Magoi?

Magoi is the energy that Rukh produces. Each and every person has some small amount of Magoi which is their life force. Some possess more than others and it is also all around in the environment's air and elements. While everyone has Magoi, only certain people and items can manifest its power. Magoi Manipulators can use it to augment strikes and wrap it in weapons or tools to make them stronger and sharper. Magicians, Metal Vessel/Houshold users, and Magic Tools all use Magoi to fuel their magic.

Magoi Capacity - We aren't putting this into a stat system, but be reasonable. Depending on the type of character your magoi will be different. But a brand new character shouldn't be able to fire off 6 spells one after the other.

Magoi Depletion - Overuse of Magoi can lead to serious side effects. It is your life force and when you exhaust all the extra life force you were blessed with, all that's left is the vital essence keeping you alive. Using too much causes exhaustion and in extreme cases, bleeding out the eyes and ears until you've collapsed. It takes an incredible amount of willpower to actually kill yourself via magoi depletion. But it is possible.

Magoi Restoration - To recover lost magoi one simply needs to rest. Eating and otherwise recovering your physical strength will allow your body to recover spiritually as well. Metal Vessels or Magic Tools that are out of magoi can also have their supplies replenished be sticking near their owners side for a few hours after they've physically recovered.

Elemental Recovery - If you possess a Djinn Metal Vessel or a Household Vessel then you are capable of recovering magoi in another way. If there is a source of that Djinn's element near by then it can pull magoi from the rukh within. There is a limit to how many times this can be done from a single source the the rukh inside a torch only have so much magoi to give. The more powerful the source, the more magoi you can borrow from it.

How does magic work?

Spells:

Magic is performed by issuing "Commands" to rukh of the 8 types. The more commands there are, the more complex a spell becomes. The ability to cast and create spells is dependent on ones ability to issue complex commands to the Rukh. There are 5 levels of spells.

Minor Magic - These are simple spells that only use a little bit of rukh. Even a normal person with no training has the magoi to cast at least three of these. Magician's start out with this level of magic. Starting level for magicians. All other character must spend a full thread learning magic to master this level.

Adept Magic - These spells possess a considerable amount of magoi and are fairly complex. After mastering Minor Magic, a player must complete 2 more threads to gain access to this level of magic.

Grand Magic - Great spells with fearsome power and a large amount of magoi backing them. These are pretty costly to use even for most magicians. After completeing Adept Magic, it requires an additional 3 threads to learn Grand Magic.

Extreme Magic - Massive spells that take place on a huge scale. Only powerful magicians and masters of full Armor Djinn Equip can cast extreme magic. These are huge attacks that make use of an incredible amount of magoi. They will exhaust just about anyone other than a magi or extremely powerful characters. Upon learning Grand Magic, one must complete 4 more threads to develop an Extreme Magic. The exemption is Metal Vessel users whom gain Extreme Magic for mastering their Djinn Equip.

Aberrant Magic - Unlike extreme magic which is simply massive in scale. Aberrant magic is terrifying for an entirely different reason, despite usually requiring much less magoi to use. It is created by combining more than two different magics together. This create unnatural "calamities" which have incredible destructive results on the world around them. Only master magicians or King Candidates who have mastered multiple Full Djinn Armor Equips can perform these magics. It takes magicians 5 threads of experience after mastering Grand Magic to learn a single Aberrant spell. You may only ever have a max of 3 and they must always come at a risk to the user. Users of multiple Djinn only need to spend one thread after reaching that mastery to gain an Aberrant Magic spell. But they can only ever learn one Aberrant spell at a time and using it requires one of your Djinn go dormant for the rest of the thread.

Djiin Equip:

This magic requires that the user focus their Magoi into a metal vessel. Once they are able to concentrate enough magoi into a condensed form they are able to manifest a Djinn Equip. Weapon Equip

It takes 1 full thread of training with your Metal Vessel to manifest your weapon. But it takes 3 threads before you can master the weapon equip and change it's shape to a weapon that suits you best.

Armor Equip

After mastering Weapon Equip you must use your Djinn in 1 more thread to gain partial armor equip. After 3 threads you master full Djinn Armor. In this state you gain access to 1 powerful Extreme Magic. For every three additional threads you complete, you may learn 1 more Extreme Magic with a max of 2 per Djinn.

Full Body Djinn Equip

The final level of Djinn Equip where the character merges with their Djinn's form. This is a profoundly powerful form capable of creating even more powerful extreme magics. After mastering Full Armor Equip, complete another 3 threads with your Djinn to obtain this form for 1 post. Every 3 threads afterwards gain another post to this forms time limit. It can be held for a max of 3 turns. 6 if an elemental source of magoi is nearby. NOTE: You cannot cast Aberrant Magic in Full Body Djinn Equip as you are too deeply connected with the equipped Djinn to access the magic of another. However it will likely not be needed as the power this form possesses could level an entire army in seconds.
