What is the differences between PCs and NPCs?
Player Character - A "player character" is a character which is a main figure in the plot. There are a limited number of these spots open.
King Candidate:
These characters have the potential to be chosen by a Djinn as Kings/Queens to guide the world. A heavy burden of destiny fall upon these characters shoulders. Greatness is in their future, but not without overcoming countless trials and adversity. They start out with a decent amount of magoi with potential to develop more, but also possess experience in combat as well as a strong character that draws like minded people to them as allies. They are natural born leaders whether they themselves realize/want it or not. This is actually the weakest class to start out as, but can become the strongest by end game.

Prodigal Magician:
These characters are incredibly adept wizards. They are natural geniuses capable of possessing a mastery over many different types of magic. They also possess a naturally plentiful supply of Magoi. However they can't wield metal vessels and possess initially frail/feeble bodies. This is a weaker starting class but can become one of the most powerful by end game.
1/3
Magoi Manipulator
These character spend an extreme amount of time practicing martial skills and the art of Magoi manpulation. They have extensive combat experience from the ground up and they possess average magoi that one might expect of a normal person. But in exchange for these advantages they are otherwise average in all other accounts. This means they are one of the strongest classes to start as, but the weakest by end game.

Physical Monsters
These characters are born with a naturally inept magoi supply. But for some reason, they possess monstrous physical strength. Even a child of this class could crush stone with their bare hands. This incredible power allows them to be great fighters, but they are rare and often hunted down to be turned into slaves. This is the strongest starting class, but least versatile. (If you're a fan of canon, this is basically if you want to be a Fanalis. We just don't want to limit those character types to a single clan.)

NPC - As counter intuitive as it may be, you can actually in fact play as Non-playable Characters! What sets NPCs apart from Player Characters is that they are not King Candidates, or Astoundingly skilled magicians. We label them "NPCs" to remove any notion of ownership over them. This is because NPCs can serve some other important roles!
--------------------------------------------------------------
Every player character gets 2 companions who will follow them around and always be their allies(unless you want a betrayal, yay drama!) Companions start out mostly as simple friends or followers with potential for greatness, but they aren't destined for fame and power quite as grand as the player character. They will often be metal vessal house hold users, or fellow less talented magicians/magoi manipulators.
-A Player Character can obtain a maximum of 6 companions/allies as NPCs.
-The first two are free!
-Additional Companions must be met and befriended over the course of a full rp thread. One thread per companion, although they can all be a part of a single plot that takes place over several threads.
-Companions can be played by other rpers, but you must have at least two actively used personally. The characters can leave your side and even go off on their own adventures. But you need to be the one posting about it.
-If any of your companions are stagnant for a month...staff reserves the right to put them in peril with a flash thread! Fail to be active and rescue them and we will kill off the character. YOU THINK THIS IS A GAME!?
--------------------------------------------------------------
There are currently 5 large kingdoms in the Magi RP world which possess most of the worlds power. The rulers of those countries and their followers are all NPCs. These are the exception to the rule about not having metal vessels or being great magicians, but only the leaders among them should. When plots are taking place in the various kindoms, these NPCs will likely be the antagonists or asking the player character for help during a crisis.
Leader NPCs - These are leaders of nations. Not just the big 5 with the most power, but also smaller nations, city-states, and even small villages or tribes.

-All players can control a Leader NPC for plot purposes. If it is your turn in a thread with one of these bad boys and you take more than 3 days to post, ANY other rper is allowed to take control of the NPC for a post to move the thread along. You can re-assume control when you are free again.
-If you simply let people know you won't be posting in the next 3 days ahead of time you can save them the trouble of waiting!
-The 5 great kingdom Leaders may have up to 6 companions. All other leader NPCs will be allowed to posses a range between 1-4 companions.
--------------------------------------------------------------
There is currently only two Magi who's identities are known to the world. But in the plot both vanished mysteriously without a trace 10 years ago. However it was said that there would always be three Magi. Yet the world has yet to learn of the mysterious third Magi or if it even really exists. The reason why they are still listed as NPCs is because you are allowed to make other NPCs who have met the two sealed Magi and even use them in a player character history. Although only briefly, their impact on player characters must be minimal!

Technically...Companions, Rulers, Magi, and even Player Characters can all fall into depravity. But these individuals get their own section because it's important to differentiate them from their pre-depraved selves. These are characters who've cursed their own fate and attached themselves to feelings of incredible negativity. These emotions are usually stemmed from extreme trauma in the character's life. However in some cases characters are simply raised into the lifestyle of a depraved individual. Depraved characters possess and attract black ruhk. These ruhk go against the flow and cause others nearby to feel unsettled. They feed power off of despair, chaos, and hatred on a mass scale. However conversely, if a large mass of normal ruhk is nearby they feel weakened and in extreme cases can even collapse.

-The limit of 3 only applies to player characters. Any number of NPCs can be in a state of depravity.
-A rare item called Solomon's Fragment can be used to enter the ruhk of one who has fallen into depravity. There, the individual can attempt to bring them back. All who are depraved can be saved, even souls that have been seeped in black ruhk for decades.
-The toll black ruhk takes on the body when being saved is immense. Many will be incapacitated for some time after being saved and others whom were deeply touched by the black ruhk might not ever survive.
